The picture shows all of the prices and speeds associated.  I personally use Spectrum (Charter) at home.  I have had it for years, at first because it was the only choice for high speed, the DSL services could not get to my neighborhood because it is too far.  Just recently U-Verse came to our neighborhood.  I have no problem saying here that the hardware modems made by 2-Wire for the U-Verse are TERRIBLE!  For the life of me, I cannot figure out why 2-Wire modems are so bad still.  The idea behind what they do, combining a modem and router into one box, is not bad, it is the execution.  I have clients that use the U-Verse service and the service is fine, but for special uses like having a security system that has video streaming over the Internet, the 2-Wire will block them, even with all of the settings correct(Here's a hint if you want to do this, get a regular router and put it in the DMZ - same for all 2-Wire - DSL or U-Verse).  I find that every time Spectrum's competitors try to have a higher speed, someone over at Spectrum cranks up dial, and the next thing you know, Spectrum has a new higher speed. Spectrum = Internet over the same cable that tv is sent over.  Works over very long distances without loosing speed.

DSL = Internet over the same copper wires from your phone company, from the "home office" switching station to the neighborhood switch box, and then to your location over the same copper wire your phone is connected to.  Works only on limited distances, and has limited speed.

U-Verse = Internet over fiber optic cables from the "home office" switching station to the neighborhood switch box, and then to your location over the same copper wire your phone is connected to.  In a small number of markets, the run from the neighborhood switch box to your location over fiber or cable.  Works over very long distances without loosing speed.

This is the OLD Charter Pricing. I'll replace this with a new one, if one exists.

I will have the prices and speeds for the others when I can get them.
